Following on from the piloted success of extending online check in to 48 hours, Emirates will be permanently extending its online check in service effective immediately, providing enhanced flexibility to travellers all over the world who can now check in from both desktop and mobile devices from 48 hours to 90 minutes before flight departure.
The initiative aims to reduce wait times at the airport as customers will be issued boarding passes prior to arriving at the airport, as well as providing customers flexibility in choosing their seats.
The earlier check in window will allow Emirates more seamless communications with customers should there by unexpected flight delays or disruptions and for members of Emirates Skywards, this also means better availability of upgrades.
Please note for passengers travelling to the United States, boarding passes will be issued 24 hours in advance, however, online check in will still be available 48 hours in advance.
This follows the airlines successful mitigation of long queues and high traveller numbers over the Spring Break holiday period when they trialled the extended check in service.
